When Life Keeps “Lifing”
and the things that are lighting me up...
Last night, I thought I was having a heart attack.
Which felt ironic, because just earlier in the day, I had told my friend (and incredible massage therapist) that I’ve never felt more centered or grounded in my life.
Both things are true.
I’ve been preparing for my son’s upcoming IEP meeting, and if you’ve ever walked that road, you know it’s not just logistics and paperwork…it’s emotional heavy lifting. Even with all my tools, all my privilege, and all the support in the world, there are still waves of grief that hit.
Grief for what I could have done differently.
Grief for the times I didn’t speak up sooner.
Grief for the moments he was failed by systems that weren’t built for him.
And yet, here I am - grateful, centered, and grounded.
Grateful that we live in Massachusetts, where he receives services and support that so many families don’t get.
Grounded in my home life, in a career that feels sustainable and creative, and in the deep knowing that I am doing my best right now.
But even when things are good - when you finally feel like you’ve hit your stride - life keeps “lifing.” The highs and lows still coexist. The heart still aches, even when it’s full.
I’ve been sitting with how much I’ve missed writing here, in this space. For a while, I let myself overthink it…should I only write about business? About personal growth? About motherhood? But here’s the truth: I’m not just one thing. None of us are.
And that’s what I teach every day in my work.
That when you build a personal brand, it’s okay - actually, it’s essential - to be multifaceted. To show your humanity. To be both the grounded businesswoman and the mom navigating an IEP. To be the creative, the advocate, the mystic, the marketer.
Because when you show up as all of yourself, you don’t just build a brand - you build community. You build connection. You attract people who will walk with you through every iteration of who you become. And that, to me, is worth more than any quick sale or viral post.
So that’s what this space, Unscripted, will continue to be.
A place where I drop what I’m learning and living.
A place where I hope you find something that meets you right where you are.
A place grounded in the belief that connection and community are what will truly change the world.
Here’s to staying grounded, even when life keeps lifing.
Here’s to showing up, unscripted ✌🏼
What’s Lighting Me Up
👟 Walking 10k steps (most days).
It gets me outside, moving, and soaking in how beautiful our town really is. It’s also my best thinking time - my moving meditation - and right now, I need that more than ever.
🧥 Cozy Old Navy finds.
This fleece and sweater combo is peak comfort-core. I even posted about the sweater on Facebook and - believe it or not - got blocked and unfriended by someone. Worth it though, because it’s that comfy.

🎧 Listening to How to Gael.
I’ve been reconnecting with my Irish roots, and this podcast has been such a gift. It’s done in both Irish and English (which threw me off at first), but their passion for reviving the Irish language is contagious.
And fun fact I only recently learned: Samhain is a Celtic pagan tradition! I’m feeling called to connect more deeply with the practices of my own lineage instead of borrowing from others - and this podcast feels like a beautiful place to begin. Shoutout to Fiona 🇮🇪
Here is a picture of my grandparents and I at my high school graduation. I plan. on printing it out and including it on our Samhain altar.
